Hunger and malnutrition
are big problems in India, too big for any one organization
or well-intentioned individual to solve. Statistics tell part
of the story: 50% of Indian adults and children are undernourished;
25% of India's population go to bed hungry at night. For India,
25% represents over 250 million people.
Walk the streets for the rest of the story.
Visible signs of malnutrition and hunger are everywhere. Homeless
women beg for their kids' meals, sell their bodies, or cook on
the roadside with whatever discarded vegetables they can find.
As we believe that every bit of effort
counts, we started Project Food, our effort to provide healthy
meals to the destitute and forgotten in an organized, heartfelt,
and efficient manner.
We feed the destitute and the forgotten
who, because of their situation, are outcast from society, or
struggle to provide themselves and their families with a decent,
healthy meal. |
